I do Ancient Greek, I'm afraid, and not much of that any more, but I was wondering (in the nationality compound)—there's an "evraiko" in the romanization that doesn't seem to appear in either the Greek or the translation, and "alvano"/αλβανο seems to be unreflected in your translation?qlfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00857086471684389869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1291147930399569160.post-61802766152770074402010-03-26T12:05:46.343+11:002010-03-26T12:05:46.343+11:00In my view, you just make corrections silently, ye...In my view, you just make corrections silently, yes, including deletions, and you add a comment saying what you've done. This fad for strikethroughs may have some use in political argument, but not in anything that purports to be (however informally) scholarship. The second edition of your book isn't full of markup indicating exactly what corrections you made when; you write a Preface to the Nth Edition and leave it at that.John Cowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11452247999156925669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1291147930399569160.post-84071281973612795212010-03-22T08:51:40.430+11:002010-03-22T08:51:40.430+11:00"Ουγγροτουρκομογγολοϊνδιανοπερσοβουλγαροαλβαν..."Ουγγροτουρκομογγολοϊνδιανοπερσοβουλγαροαλβανοσλαβοϊταλοφραγκογερμανοαγγλοϊσπανοαβαροτσιγγανοαραβοαιγυπτιακοσυριακοασσυριακοϊρακινοσουηδορωσσοσερβοκροατομουσουλμανοβουδιστοϊεχωβαδομιθραϊστοσιντοϊστοϊνδουιστοέλληνες"<br /><br />That certainly puts σερβαλβανιτοβουλγαρόβλαχος to shame.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1291147930399569160.post-17186037874831114052010-03-18T07:29:42.104+11:002010-03-18T07:29:42.104+11:00Huh.
